STAYCATION

It’s Spring Break and out of abundance of caution most of us will be home and have to make the best of it. Parent Council thought it would be a great idea to put together a list of things your family can do this week. If items are needed hopefully you can order online and have it here before the week is out! ENJOY!!

 

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES/EVENTS

 

1. LED Glow Night Light Party- Have a fun night with your child’s playlist and dance the night away! Click here for a cool light novelty set
    

2. Camp Fire in the Backyard- Have a tent? Set up outside for camping in the backyard fun! Click her for some ideas
    

3. Have a picnic on a blanket - It’s a fun way to eat lunch or a snack Click here for some ideas
    

4. Water fight- Grab your water guns, sprinklers, slip and slide, water balloons and have loads of fun with your family in the backyard! Click here for some ideas
    

5. Obstacle course- When designing an obstacle course indoors or outside, it’s all about movement. Crawl under an object, jump over an object, run around an object, slide between objects, and laugh! Check out this youtube video on some DIY obstacle courses
    

6. Bike riding- Family bike ride in your neighborhood
    

7. Family walk- walk your neighborhood! Have the kids observe nature...watching the trees and flowers bloom
    

8. Garden- Build a garden or plant some new flowers! Check this out

INDOOR ACTIVITIES/EVENTS

 

1. Fun Arts & Crafts- Coloring, Drawing, painting!! Click here for ideas

3. Unlimited painter tape game- One roll of painter tape equals countless activities. Create a long jump pit with several spaced out lines and see how far kids can jump. Or maybe design a race track for toy cars, trucks and trains. More ideas here
    

4. Build a fort- Go old-school with pillows and blankets, or create a full-day activity by picking up a large appliance cardboard box. Cut out a door, a window or two, and provide craft materials including paint, markers, glue, feathers, ribbons, and stickers for kids to make their very own stylish tiny house. Don’t forget to stock the fort with cushions, flashlights, books, and snacks. Check out this cozy fort
    

5. Fashion show! Raid your home closets and create categories for outfits such as stylish, or silly. Don’t forget the runway, the music, and the flash of paparazzi taking pictures. 
    

6. Balloon tennis- Using hands, tennis rackets, pool noodles or any other item and make your own Wimbleton court!
    

7. Slime- Create slime in different colors and themes! Click here for directions
    

8. Living room picnic- Spread out your favorite blanket and involve the kids in the preparations of their favorite lunch items.
    

9. House of cards- skip the netflix version, grab a pack of playing cards, and see how high your kids can build a tower.

9. Start or perfect a hobby- Is there a craft project you’ve been meaning to tackle, or a professional camera lying around collecting dust? You are home with plenty of time on your hands, so now is the time to either pick up that forgotten hobby or start a new one.
